Ted Thompson isn't the kind of guy to make big moves like that. Braylon Edwards would have been more expensive, and as you pointed out, would have to learn a new offense and a new quarterback. Edwards and Jones are very similar receivers, so I would say Jones is the better pick for this season. Perhaps next season the Packers can target a more productive receiver to help Aaron Rodgers.

Thanks for the comment.

I think The Packers would have been better off signing a Top receiver like Braylon Edwards. I can see why they signed Jones though, they have 2 weeks to practice, and that is a crunch for anyone to learn a new offense.

At the time I wrote this Colledge had not yet been officially reported as a sold player by the Packers. The Cardinals may have gone public, but the Packers kept it quiet until he was officially let go

There is one criterion by which we can identify Aaron Rodgers as not only the best QB in the NFL but the most highly regarded PLAYER at any position. If a draft were held which included all of the current players in the NFL, A-Rod would easily be the consensus first overall pick.
The reason cited in the article for not naming him the best current QB - namely a shorter track record of accomplishment given his relative youth - is precisely why he would be the most coveted choice in such a draft.
Aaron Rodgers is the primary reason why so many observers give the Packers an excellent chance at being Super Bowl contenders for many years to come.

Playing the Staint's the first is the best thing that could have happen for the Packers.
Should keep them focus from the beginning on training camp.

I love the dynasty question!

Let's ask fans how many are afraid to use the word dynasty when it come to the Packers. I talk to a lot of fans not wanting to go there. Packers nation better get ready for a long run by their Packers.
